NEW FOREST EXCAVATION
2009

The annual excavation will take place from Saturday 22nd August to Sunday 30th August.

      The site is a suspected Bronze Age feature in an area where there is also evidence of Romano-British
occupation.

  1. Completion of survey of Oakley and surrounding Inclosures for  the National Park.

The New Forest History and Archaeology Group was founded in 2008 to replace the New Forest Section of Hants Field Club .  The focus of the Group is on practical fieldwork and recording of the Forest's archaeology and local history. It undertakes a wide range of projects : (for details click on a link).
