New Forest History and Archaeology Group

NEW FOREST EXCAVATION
2009

Subject to permission being given by the Forestry Commission, the annual excavation will take place
from Saturday 22nd August to Sunday 30th August.

      The site is a suspected Bronze Age feature in an area where there is also evidence of Romano-British
Occupation.  The work continues the project  started in April of 2008

The New Forest History and Archaeology Group was founded in 2008 to replace the New Forest Section of Hants Field Club .  The focus of the Group is on practical fieldwork and recording of the Forest's archaeology and local history. It undertakes a wide range of projects : (for details click on a link).
